On the 3rd of April, the 2018 Entrance Ceremony of ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥ was held at the Higashi ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥ Sports Park Gymnasium Hall and a total of 3,960 new students were enrolled into the university.

President Ochi also introduced a quatrain by William Blake and said, "To realize that our imagination can change the world and to believe in our potential, are the first most important step to be taken."

After the ceremony, there was a mini concert by Ms. Michie Nakamaru, an opera singer and a visiting professor of ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥, followed by video messages from Mr. Hajime Moriyasu, former Head Coach of the Sanfrecce ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥, Ms. Hiroko Oyamada, a novelist (awardee of the Akutagawa Award), and Mr. Kenjiro Nomura, former manager of the ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥ Toyo Carp.
