ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥

The 14th University of Zambia (UNZA)-ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥ (ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥) Research Dissemination Seminar took place as part of a collaborative effort between ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥'s Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, International Education Development Program, and UNZA. The event, focused on mathematics and science education, was hosted at UNZA on August 16 and 17.

UNZA and ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥'s Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences signed a memorandum of understanding for academic and educational exchange on November 21, 2002. Based on this agreement, both universities initiated research collaborations among their graduate students.

Since August 2007, UNZA and the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, formerly known as IDEC, have jointly organized research dissemination seminars. By 2019, a total of 13 seminars had been conducted.

These seminars consistently drew participants not only from both universities but also from representatives of the Zambian and Malawian Ministries of Education, educational institutions, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Distinguished researchers and experts have presented their research findings, addressing various educational challenges in mathematics and science education. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, these seminars were temporarily suspended in 2020, but they have made a comeback in 2023 after a four-year hiatus.

The organization of these seminars has primarily been led by faculty members from UNZA who have studied at ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥, as well as by ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥ students currently involved in Zambia as JICA Overseas Cooperation Volunteers under the Zambia Education Program. Participation extends beyond UNZA and ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥, to include other universities, government officials, and educational institutions.

In this year's seminar, four ÌÇÐÄÖ±²¥ students, along with Professor , presented their research as part of the Zambia Education Program.
